Understand Your Pet
- Remember that pets have their own routines just like people. Observe
their behavior. Not only will it help you know when to interact with
your pet, it can also alert you to health conditions if your pet's behavior
suddenly changes.
- Do not disturb your pet when it is eating, sleeping or feeding its young.
- Be sure you have all animals smell your hand before you pet them. Likewise, if you have a pet, be sure that you have others offer their hands to your dog. Often, animals use scent as a barometer for interacting with others.
- Be sure your pet gets enough exercise. It benefits animals the same
way it benefits humans. Make visits to the vet a regular occurrence and
keep accurate records of all vaccinations.
